What to know about this newsletter and me

I am a long-time enthusiast of spirits and cocktails that “turned pro” in 2020 when a surprising number of people who were stuck at home began asking me to teach them about cocktails. Not only do I love teaching, but it has given me the time and mandate to satisfy my curiosity and then share it with you.

Why subscribe?

I’m told by people who join me in class that my enthusiasm for the topic is contagious, and I do a good job simplifying the subject matter. I’m told by podcast listeners and guests that it is clear that I’ve done my homework, ask thoughtful questions, and give my guests space to answer them.

I aim to publish every Tuesday morning. The first and third Tuesdays will be my podcast. The remainder will be what I’m working on or excited about.

Every Sunday, I publish “Sunday Service,” a piece designed to go beyond recipes and ingredients, hitting at the core of what makes crafting a drink or getting together for one such a timeless nourishing thing.
